搜狐已推出SNS，白社会：http://bai.sohu.com 。根据TeckWeb消息，5月23日开始白社会接受邀请注册，月底将开放用户注册。
2000年9月，搜狐收购了中国最大的年轻人社区网站ChinaRen.com，获得了700余万注册用户，其中大部分为实名。但由于缺乏互动，在竞争中的优势逐渐褪去，尤其在SNS病毒扩散期，当年的大量校友用户逐渐涌入开心，而学生用户也都转向校内等SNS。据闻，2008年，ChinaRen的技术团队已经萎缩到不足10人，也传出ChinaRen将转型SNS的消息。
互联网进入中国十余年，存活下来，又最成功的企业无外老三家（搜狐、新浪、网易）和新三家（腾讯、百度、淘宝）。新三家各有所长，老三家均以门户起家，现在新浪还算比较坚守门户，网易则基本转型为游戏（或代理）公司，搜狐的业务范围最广，涉及门户、搜索、游戏等领域。
2008年，搜狐在北京奥运会内容赞助商表现非凡，小道消息称北京奥运会结束后，搜狐也正争取伦敦奥运会的内容赞助商资格；2009年3月，搜狐游戏上市，获得一笔可观的融资。2009年5月，推出SNS白社会，在与开心、校内竞争中成绩如何，还需要时间来证明。
